Mechatech Design offers a comprehensive range of engineering solutions at all levels from conceptual design through to detail drafting for manufacture. We can also provide structural calculations using either a classical approach or by using state of the art finite element analysis. 

 

Our aim is to provide our customers with efficient design solutions, this is enhanced by over 25 years of engineering design experience.  We offer a professional and efficient service covering small and large projects.  We use the latest 3D CAD (Solid Edge) and finite element analysis software to provide design from initial concepts through to manufacture and installation.

 

We specialise in: -

 

  • Detail drafting (2D and 3D) for manufacture using 3D CAD (Solid Edge) software.
  • Design of special purpose machines and test rigs.
  • Layout of complex piping systems and design of pressure vessels (ANSI B31.3, ASME VIII, PD 5500).
  • Structural steel work.
  • Electro-mechanical devices and instrumentation.
  • Stress analysis with supporting calculations and full documentation.
  • Finite element analysis FEA (static, structural, thermal, dynamic) using computer based programs.

A Chartered Engineer with more than 25 years of design experience within aero and specialised test rig environment.  

 

Engineering roots were developed from a craft Apprentice at the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) in Farnborough. Further experience was gained at the Former National Gas Turbine Establishment (NGTE) at Pyestock.  During a  20 year period design work was undertaken on several major Gas turbine projects for altitude performance and icing test requirements for CAA approval, notably Rolls Royce Trent, BR710/715, EJ200 and the WR21 marine gas turbine.

 

A further 6 years were spent at Corac as the Principal Engineer, helping to establish a design team to develop high speed industrial air compressors, downhole gas compressors and dry gas seal test rigs.

 

Mechatech was formed in 2006 and has provided a dedicated engineering design service to a host of companies. Be it small or large the emphasis is always to offer a quality, professional service that meets and exceeds the customers expectations.​
